What Is BroadBand Light?
Broadband Light (BBL) / Intense Pulsed Light is a corrective phototherapy treatment that targets visible and deeper dermal skin conditions associated with aging, active life styles, and sun damage. BBL delivers control pulsated light that gently heats the upper layers of the skin. Accordingly, the heat stimulates skin cell regeneration and collagen production – the sources of silky, glowing, and beautiful skin.
Consequently, BBL improves skin tone (color) and firmness (sagginess, wrinkles and lines). Brown spots or freckles – footprints of sun damage – lightens or flakes off after BBL treatments. Moreover, the phototherapy treats enlarged or broken blood vessels and reduces redness (seen with rosacea or too much sun exposure). What Can I Expect from a Treatment?
During consultation, the doctor will assess the skin to determine what can and can not be treated with BBL. Then, the doctor will establish a treatment plan tailored toward one’s concerns and needs.
During the BBL, most patients feel a warm sensation on the surface of the skin. Indeed, BBL treatments are relatively quick (about 30 mins) with little to no discomfort. Afterward, the skin may show a light redness for 1-4 hours after treatment.
How Many Sessions of BBL Do I Need?
BBL is Not A-One-And-Done Treatment. Although noticeable results may be seen after one session, several sessions are needed to repair skin damage endured during one’s lifetime. For optimal results, we recommend a package of 4-5 BBL treatments and continue with the maintenance of at least 3 BBL treatments a year.

Is There Any Downtime?
Downtime is minimal, with redness and peeling for a few days. Some pigmented spots may become darker, but these areas will ‘flake off’ after a few days. We recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure up to 4 weeks after the treatment.
